Flock was designed to ultimately become a cooperative that would create a human place to build digital literacy for feminine-identfying creatives. A place to connect, support, give and receive. To learn how to sell online. An unapologetically feminist place to empower and rebalance by building the financial strength of a vulnerable group in our community.

Brief

The Flock project required support for all facets of starting a new initiative - branding, website and video. Flock needed an online marketplace for feminine-identifying creatives to sell their work and seek support in doing so. They needed to tell their story with video, complete with storyboarding and scripting for interview material. And before all of this could happen Flock needed a visual identity.

Approach

This project was about gathering and supporting a Flock online. We started with user research to identify the barriers this cohort experiences when attempting to sell their art online and fed this into UX design and content. The website was designed as an easy-to-use membership marketplace, with large amounts of How-to content written for people with English as a second language. Flock also needed promotional and thought leadership material to spread the word and the love. A strong visual identity based on hope and freedom was just the beginning. We storyboarded and made a video, designed business cards and a promotional deck. The video was interview-based, showcasing some of the amazing artists and speaking to Moira Were about the principle behind Flock.
